Why do we offer chocolate eggs for Easter?

Easter is not only a moment when you hide chocolate eggs to be found. It is also a very old religious feast.

For primitive religions, it is the period of the spring equinox. It is the symbol of revival after winter, the feast of life.

In the Jewish religion, Easter recalls the moment when the Hebrew people run away from Egypt, following Moses, over 3.000 years ago.

To the Christians, Easter is a holy day when they remember the death of Christ and his return to life.

At the time of the Antique Egypt, the egg was symbol of revival, as Easter follows winter, as the liberty of the Hebrew after slavery in Egypt, as resurrection after death.

In Europe, in ancient times, it was forbidden to eat eggs during Lent (the forty days before Easter) so the farmers had many eggs left. Henceforth, since the Middle Age, Easter eggs are decorated.
