How to Draw Bagheera from The Jungle Book
Well you have seen my first character from the Jungle Book series that I think I did a very good job on. The reason why I chose to do tutorials on these characters from The Jungle Book is because I watched the movie last night by myself on DVD. Why am I watching Disney movies alone you ask? Well I can only answer that question truthfully and as weird as it may seem at least I'm not lying right? I initially wanted to watch The Jungle Book because I wanted to hear some of the songs like œBear Necessities and œI Want to Be like You which is sung by a crazed Orangutan named King Louie. But instead I found myself searching for the three main characters that I decided to draw from the flick. So in this tutorial I will show you how to draw Bagheera from The Jungle Book who happens to be the Black Panther that initially found Mowgli when he was just a baby. Bagheera finds a wicker basket floating down a stream with a crying man baby inside. He didn't want to leave the young man cub in the basket and risk that he would die, so he sneakily dropped the baby off in front of the wolf hole of a new mother that just gave birth to a litter of wolf cubs. Bagheera was pleased to see that she accepted him as one of her own. Over time he was there watching over the young man cub as he grew older and they soon became very good friends. In the movie Bagheera's character is very smart, serious, resourceful, and careful. His main focus in the movie is to get young Mowgli to the man village safely, and as soon as possible. In this tutorial I will show you how easy it is to draw Bagheera from The Jungle Book step by step. In my next tutorial I will show you how to draw Baloo as well. I will be back with more drawing fun so don't go far and remember stay creative and take your time when you draw. Patience is virtue.....
Well as you know this is going to be an easy tutorial. you will start this first step of this lesson by drawing a circle for the shape of his head and then add the facial guidelines. Then draw a long line that is slightly curved for the back of Bagheera's neck, back and tail. You will add an egg shape for the mid part of his body and then add the limb guidelines for his legs.
Now you will start this step by sketching out the shape of his face starting with the jowls and bridge of his snout. Then add two small circles for his eyes, then two small lumps for his ears. Now move down and begin drawing the shoulder and leg of his limb that is closest to you the lining will be in red. Move to the back and add the lining for his hind legs and then shape out his tail. See so far its a breeze right?
Now that you have made it to step three you are almost done. And guess what? You are doing a great job. What you will do here is detail the inside of his ears as shown and then draw the triangle shape of the tip of his nose. You will then add his eyeballs and bottom jaw shape. Now you will start drawing the shape of his front leg that is on the ground. The lining for his leg starts under his jaw and moves down to the shape of his paw. Add the toes to his lifted paw and hind paw. Make a line for under his belly and then the tree limb line.
Well you have made it to your last step. What you will do first is give Bagheera some whiskers and eyebrows. Make a separation line from the bottom tip of his nose to the end of his jowls. Then you will add the lining for the hind leg and paw and then the rest of the tree limb. You are ready to start erasing all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.
Well that is it you are done. I hope you found this drawing lesson on how to draw Bagheera from The Jungle Book step by step helpful. I will be back with a wicked cool tutorial in a while so stay tuned you don't want to miss this one that is coming up next.
