How to Draw Jiminy Cricket from Pinocchio
Who is two inches tall, has a wonderful singing voice, and who helps a wooden boy do the right thing? If you have guessed Jiminy Cricket than you guessed right. "Pinocchio" was such an awesome Disney cartoon as I came to realize last night when I watched it with my baby sister. Jiminy Cricket is introduced when he sneaks inside of Geppetto's wooden shop for shelter. As he makes himself comfy, noise and music starts to take place and later he is asked by the œBlue Fairy to officially become Pinocchio's conscience until his goals are reached in order for him to become a real boy. Jiminy's original character written by œCarlo Collodi in the novel œPinocchio didn't have a name and was only of minor importance in the book. It was Disney that gave the unnamed insect a life, name and personality. Now we know Jiminy Cricket as the little bug that goes with Pinocchio on his adventures. There really isn't much more to say about Jiminy because he is a character that explains himself. I'm sure that I don't have to ramble on about the flick and what he did through the whole movie. Learning œhow to draw Disney characters is always fun, and if you come to DragoArt to learn from, than you will see that almost all the tutorials are easy to follow and understand. Maybe next time I will do lessons on œhow to draw Cleo the goldfish and 'Figaro the cat. One of the prettiest things in the movie was the Blue Fairy. Anyway, I will be leaving now because I still have two more lessons to upload. Stay tuned into the site and start drawing with this tutorial on œhow to draw Jiminy Cricket from Pinocchio step by step. Peace out and stay creative!....
There is only five steps to this tutorial. Start with a circle for the head and add the facial guidelines. Next draw the rest of the lining for the shoulders, arms, hat and torso as seen here.
Now you will start to draw out the high collar that is a part of Jiminy's tuxedo suit as seen here, and then draw out the shape of his left arm and hand. See how easy this is?
Now we will start to have some fun. Draw the actual shape of his head and then draw out the shape of Jiminy's eyes and nose as you see here using the facial guidelines you drew in step one. After that you can start drawing out the shape of his top hat and then the rest of his coat.
Color in the eyes and then draw out the mouth and smile. You will then draw out the shape of the umbrella, finish off the hat, and then draw his ankles and socks.
This is your last drawing step and as you can see all you have to do is draw out the big round shoes that he is so proud of. If you notice in the movie he is always polishing his shoes and hat. Erase all the guidelines and shapes and then move to the last step to see what your newly drawn Jiminy Cricket should look like.
Here he is, all finished and ready to be colored in. I know that you did a super job and I want you guys to keep going with the good work. Well, that concludes this tutorial on "how to draw Jiminy Cricket from Pinocchio step by step".
