How to Draw an Ostrich for Kids
My last animal tutorial for the day and it's going to be another simple, bright, and adorable one. To end the animal series for today, let's learn the technique that teaches us "how to draw an ostrich for kids", step by step. Wow, that title is a little tongue tying. The ostrich is by far one of the weirdest looking bird species on the earth. Not even the flamingo is as strange as this long necked creature. These animals are not just known for their large size, long legs and neck, or how they stick their heads in the ground. They are also known for their incredibly large eggs. If you remember correctly, in the movie Jurassic Park, the narrator's voice during the tour explains how the dinosaurs are being injected into ostrich eggs. The best part about this tutorial is you will actually make a normally ugly looking bird, into an adorable bid with a cute expressive face. Have fun with this and all the lessons on Dragoart.com and remember to submit your finished work when you finish a drawing. ....
You will be drawing this ostrich from the front view. Begin with a circle for the head, and then draw a neck line which should connect to the egg shaped body.
Thicken the shape for the head, and then draw in the low hanging cheeks. Draw in the thick stubby sized neck, and then add some hair pieces.
Now you will get busy with drawing in the large shaped eyes. When you do this you will also need to draw in the eyeballs, and then the brows.
Draw out the beak, and then add the mouth separation line like you see here. Sketch in the nostril holes, and then proceed on.
As you can see you are getting closer to the end. All you need to do here is draw out the body, and then draw in the light sketched lines for the wings.
Next, draw out the turkey like tail, and this can be done in a very easy manner. Just keep making loops from end to end.
Okay, draw in the long legs and then draw out the three toed feet. As you can see you need to draw in the knee's to buckle inward. Erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one.
Here is the finished drawing. Now color it in, and then post it to your profile. Thanks guys, and I hope that was fun for you.
