Kikkan Randall

Cross-country skiing is among the most grueling Winter Olympic events.  Kikkan Randall, an Alaskan native, is the first US woman in history to win a medal at the World Championships, which she accomplished in 2009.  She adds that medal to a list of impressive firsts, including setting the Alaskan state speed skiing record by skiing down a local hill at 74 m.p.h. when she was only 14 years old.  Vancouver marks Kikkan's third trip to the Winter Olympic games and we hope the third time's a charm!
