On March 20, 1989, the General meeting of the United Nations (O.N.U.) adopted the International Convention of the Rights of the Child who recognizes their basic rights.

To this date, 182 countries have committed to apply it. In France, Parliament declared November 20th like the national day of the defence of the children’s rights.

Children have rights:
- Right to the equality without taking into account the races, the nationalities, the religions;
- Right to the physical, mental and intellectual development;
- Right to a name and a nationality;
- Right to food and housing;
- Right to education, care and entertaining activities;
- Right to protection against cruelty or exploitation;
- Right to friendship, comprehension and justice between the people.

Children of the World:
Why aren't all the children equal? Some play the kings while others are under fed, exploited or beaten. Some have access to school and culture while others remain in ignorance. Why are some always hungry whereas others throw away and waste their food?

Children are victim of violence:
They are easy preys and without defence: victims of racket, hazing, ill-treatment, sexual violence. Some are forced to become soldier, to fight, to handle the weapons.

Why?
Why, while we sleep, play or study, others are obliged to work to be paid so little? Why is wealth so badly and unequally shared between the countries? Why is there so much egoism and so little generosity on this earth?

Let us show solidarity and act so that these rights be respected everywhere!
