During the Christmas Eve in 1999, a storm crosses Europe cutting down on its passage trees, chimneys, houses,… During more than two days, nearly 2 million families have not electricity.
This night, there was a terrible storm. I awoke because my little brother cried, his light was switch off. I went to awake my father. The wind was very strong, the windows made funny noise which makes fear, like a howl. Then there was a big noise. My daddy believed that it was the garage which fell but it was the apple tree in the garden that the wind tore off.

In the morning everything was broken. There was not electricity during two days. Outside all the large trees are broken. Beside the house, there is a house where all the slates are broken. We found a piece of the neighbour roof in the other side of the street. Television said that more than 50 persons died and that the wind blew to 200 km/h, like a racing car.
In wood where I used to go it is almost a tree on two which fell. I am happy that electricity works again, even if it was funny to make the kitchen in the chimney.
