We saw the "Girondains"*

The pupils of the EREA Primary education class went to visit the players of the Club of Bordeaux.

Tuesday, February 12, 2002, the class 3 of the EREA primary education of the village Eysines went on the training ground to see the players of Bordeaux train. We had brought cameras and a video camera. The latter was used by the teacher, Adama and by Anne-Claire.

There were pupils who were in front, but just behind the barrier which is a limit of protection between the players and the people who watch the match. Being in front, the pupils can see well. At a given time, the players trained while playing small games, then they worked on their slaloms and finally, they jumped above bars joint foot. Some players sprinted between studs which marked the starting and final lines of the race.
 

Then, at a given time, we went towards the castle of the Girondains where Aurelie was waiting for us. Aurelie works which works for the press service of the Girondains. She gave us posters and the players signed autographs on each of our posters next to their portrait.

But what did we think of this meeting? Our opinions:

Ugo, Simon, Julien, Benoit, Stephan, Joachim, Steven, Anthony, Isabelle, Jennifer, Rudy think that: “We  were glad to see them training, and to see them so closely. We think they are very nice especially when they signed autographs on our posters. We also appreciated Aurelie because she was nice; she gave us the posters and enabled us to go in front of the cloakrooms where the players change after the match. The castle was beautiful and we liked its colours.

But other children have different opinions:
Anthony: “When I am older, I would like to play with the Girondains.“
Simon, Stephan, Rudy: “We would like to be goalkeepers.”
Anthony, Joachim: “I would like to be a super attacker like those of the world cup. They are very strong like Pauletta..”
Benoit, Ugo: “I would like to be a defender like A. Rock and D. Thuram.”
Julien: “I would like to be referee to put paperboards.”
Steven: “I would like to be like Elie Boop: trainer.”
Isabelle, Jennifer: “I would like to be like Aurelie and work as a press attaché.”

*Girondains= people from a south west region of France: la Gironde.
