 This year we had planned our Summer vacation to Nainital . I am going for my summer vacation along with my dad,mom , younger brother and my grandmother.

We took Rajdhani Express Special train from Mumbai Central to New Delhi.We had lots of fun in the train  .In the train I slept on the third tier of the train .We reached New Delhi next evening. The taxi driver Sunil Uncle had come to pick up at the station. We took the help of a porter to carry our luggage from station to the car.

In Nainital we stayed in the Hotel Himalaya.The hotel was 100 years old  heritage building. The hotel was made by the Britisher’s and the hotel was facing Naini Lake.  The lake was in the shape of an eye hence named Naini Lake. In the hotel there was a mini golf course which I played and also won a game . We started our sightseeing by going to cave garden, tiger garden. We went to the astronomical observatory site from there through the telescope we viewed the Himalaya mountains.  I enjoyed very much viewing the snow mountain Himalayas which I had studied earler in S.S.T book. Later in the day we went for horse ride and saw six different points on the steep hills. I was riding horse along with my younger brother (Alan). My mom and dad were on the other two horses. It was very exciting and adventures  . Then we went for a rope ride from one mountain to another mountain across the Naini Lake. Then in the evening we went back to the hotel to rest and plan for the next day trip.

Next day morning we started our journey from Nainital to Kasauni. The drive was long and tiring we travelled for almost 6 hours to Kasauni we stayed in Chevron Eco hotel. In the hotel I made friendship with Vidha and Smriti they had come from Bengal and Chennai to spend their holidays with their families. We played lots of games in the garden, later in the evening we had our dinner. On 10 May I woke up early morning at 5’00 clock eagerly waiting for the sun rise and when I saw the sun rising from behind the Himalayas it was the most marvelous sight . I was watching it with my binoculars . I saw the sky was filled with orange colors of the rising sun. I used my binoculars to see the Himalayas which were 300 kms away but still very close to me. Later we had our breakfast and visited Gandhi Ashram in Kasauni.  In Kasuani Gandhiji stayed for14 days during the freedom struggle. I saw various photographs of Gandhiji during his freedom struggle.

In Kasauni we also visited the Shawl Factory and saw how the shawl was made. My mom also purchased few shawls. Later we visited tea factory and tasted the tea. In the tea garden I played along with my brother in the swing and took few snaps there. Later we went to the hotel and had lunch. In the evening I went with my father to see Live Planet show and  through the telescope I saw planet Saturn , moon and stars.

The next morning we started our trip to Jim Corbett National Park and had stayed in a tent near the Park. During night it was raining very heavily and the tent was shaking very much. It was a terrifying experience . The next day we had our breakfast and took an open Jeep for the Tiger Safari. In the park I saw Peacock, wild Cock, Dear, Peahen, Langoor, Monkey , Colorful birds. It was a beautiful safari and I enjoyed the safari a lot. After a tiring day had dinner and slept.

The next day we started our journey back to Delhi.In Delhi we visited Birla house where Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated  .  As we were tired so we decided to return to Hotel. Now it was the last day of the vacation. Then in the morning it was the sightseeing in Delhi. We visited Indira Gandhijis house where she was assassinated by her own security guards. The place was kept very clean and the guards were keeping discipline in the area. We also visited Lotus temple, Qutub Minar and the place was kept neat and many tourist was there in the place which is also strictly guarded. Thus the whole vacation ended and started our journey back to Mumbai and travelled back again by August Kranti train .The vacation was very memorable experience of Nature, Science and Adventure.I would like to thank God for keeping us safe through the journey and my parents. Looking ahead for enjoying many more adventurous vacation.
